The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center to Host Second Small Business Outreach Event

Roof Replacement Workshop Set for November 8

NEW ORLEANS — The Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority (the Authority), in partnership with the AECOM Hunt-Broadmoor joint venture, is hosting the next outreach event in the series designed to engage and inform the small and disadvantaged business community on upcoming contract opportunities with the Convention Center’s Capital Improvements Plan.

Business and enterprise owners may attend a workshop on the Roof Replacement project on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the Rivergate Meeting Room at The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (Julia Street entrance) or virtually through the project website listed below. The workshop will provide information on this construction phase, including the overall schedule, steps to bidding as prime, bidder registration and qualification, insurance and bonding requirements, and a special networking hour that provides the opportunity for prime bidders, small and minority-owned subcontractors, and suppliers to meet and discuss potential subcontracting and partnering opportunities. Team members will be on hand to answer questions related to the roofing project.

Interested businesses should register at https://www.huntbroadmoor.com/packages/roofing-package. Prime bidders can request a dedicated “Prime Bidder” table for their company at outreach@huntbroadmoor.com .

This outreach series began to ensure maximum and meaningful opportunities for SEB/DBEs and started with a Construction Kick-Off meeting in October and will continue with additional workshops in 2023 for the interior construction stage and in 2024 for the final construction stage.

Businesses seeking Hudson-certified Small and Emerging Businesses (SEB) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) certifications may do so through the following certifying agencies: the Louisiana Department of Economic Development as the authorizing agent for SEB designation or through City of New Orleans, the New Orleans Aviation Board or the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for DBE designation.

The Authority selected AECOM HuntBroadmoor, as its Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the final planning, development and construction of the major upgrades remaining of the $557 million Capital Improvement Plan approved in 2018.
